We Get To Grow Together!
This year, our theme, Cultivate the Future, reminds us that education is not about building students according to a blueprint... it is about creating the conditions in which each child can grow, thrive, and become who they are meant to be. Like strong trees, much of the most important growth happens beneath the surface, through relationships, encouragement, high expectations, second chances, belonging, and adults who simply keep showing up. Every member of our HJT1 team has the opportunity to become part of a student’s roots, knowing that one day our students will leave us carrying the confidence, curiosity, resilience, values, skills, and sense of belonging we helped nurture. Together, we cultivate the conditions where people can grow. Together, we Cultivate the Future.
Yours In Education,
Tara Villalobos, PhD
District Administrator

Ms. Lorbiecki, Lincoln Teacher
Q: How many years have you worked in education/schools?
A: This will be my first year as a teacher, but I spent a full school year student teaching.
Q: What drew you to working in schools and/or HJT1, specifically?
A: Becoming an educator has always been a dream of mine. I have always enjoyed working with young children, and over the years, teaching swim lessons has strengthened my passion for helping children learn and grow. My educational journey began at Lincoln, so the opportunity to teach there is especially close to my heart. Hartford has been home to me and my family for generations, and teaching at Lincoln feels like a meaningful way to give back to the community and the town that I love.
Q: Share some your favorites - snack, hobby, activity, book, travel destination.
A: My favorite soda is Dr. Pepper, I love crafting and reading. I spend a lot of time with my family and younger siblings. I would love to go back to St. Thomas, which was my favorite stop on a cruise I went on with my family.
Q: If you could teach any class for a day, what would it be? Or what was your favorite subject in school?
A: My favorite subject when I was in school was reading.
